CREATIVE TEAM
Natalie Latham – Done Up
Hair, Make up and Project Direction
Natalie Latham is a professional Hair and Make-up Artist. This project has allowed her to explore her favourite subcultures and put her own stamp on them. The idea for the book came from empowering women within different subcultures and expressing that it is ok to be different. Each subculture has been researched and developed with Natalie’s ideas to create a unique fashion twist on each look.
“I wanted to create an image book that explored my love for subculture throughout the years. The subcultures I’ve chosen are ones that stand out and inspire me the most and can still be seen in current day. I created this book to inspire and empower women, this is an important subject to me and I wanted to create something to show that it is ok to be different. I hope that people find this book inspiring and it encourages others to flaunt their own personal style and creativity” – Natalie Latham
Grace Kemp – Queen of Hearts Photography
Photography and Retouching
Grace is a fully qualified and award winning photographer specialising in Pin up, Boudoir and “Rock the Frock” photography. Grace has understood Natalie’s vision for the project and together they have developed and created beautiful visuals that reflect the ideas behind each subculture.
"When asked to work on this project with Natalie, I was really intrigued into what she had in store for the photoshoots. In total there were 6 completely different and well planned photoshoots put together all by Natalie. Including set plan, props, costume, models and of course makeup. When it came to shooting after the incredibly professional and creative makeup was completed, Natalie allowed me to take rein on the photoshoots, after showing me her mood boards so I could get an idea of her vision for the images. We made a good team in the sense that I could almost take over when it came to the photoshooting but then she would also step in with her creative directing, and the ideas just flowed from us both. I can't wait to see the images side by side as they are all completely individual to each other. It's been great to collaborate with Natalie, and I'm looking forward to working with her again in the future. She has makeup skills to a very high and professional standard which I would love to see more in mine and other photographers work." - Grace Kemp
Laura Hardeman – Laura Janes Wardrobe
Styling Assistant
Laura has an eye for fashion and uses her blog “Laura Janes Wardrobe” to show off her clothes due to being a self-confessed shopaholic. Laura has understood Natalie’s vision for the project and together they have created beautiful visuals that reflect the ideas behind each subculture.
"The moment that Natalie asked me to help with the set ups for her final piece, I knew that it would be like something I had never worked on before. Natalie has such a creative vision and I think this really comes across in all of the looks and shoots completed throughout this project. Every time we would turn up on set the photographer, Grace would say "what crazy thing are we doing today", it was just that; a crazy yet amazing concept. I hope that you can see all the hard work and dedication that went into this project with the makeup, styling and scene hunting; I never thought I would be walking around a woods looking for the perfect shot! Overall it was an amazing experience and I hope that Natalie has shown just how talented and professional she truly is." - Laura Hardeman
